What to focus on when choosing a garden cultivator

Purpose

  • Single-purpose - for tilling, weeding, and soil aeration for smaller plants in smaller lawns and flowe beds.
  • Multifunction - has a more powerful engine and special attachments; can handle soil aeration, lawn care, etc.

Motor type

  • Electric - suitable for smaller gardens. They have weaker engines and are limited by their cable length, but they are also cheaper than combustion engine models.
  • Petrol - suitable for tilling and aeration of larger areas. They have stronger engines and are generally more expensive.

Attachments

  • Furrowers - let you furrow and plow the soil.
  • Swath blade - for growing root crops and some vegetables.
  • Planters - ideal for soft soil.
  • Dethatchers - for mowing thick and dense grass.
  • Snowblowers - can remove even a thick layer of snow over a large area.
