The party game Codenames is an association game that will definitely not get bored. It can be played by 2 to 8 players aged 10 and up. This is an original Czech game by Vladimir "Vlaadi" Chvátil with low difficulty and simple rules. I aim to contact all the agents on your team. Whichever team succeeds first wins. But the game is complicated by the presence of a hit man. Communicate, keep track of your opponent's moves and come up with unique association clues. The cooperative game Codenames is successful all over the world. Her biggest achievement is winning Game of the Year 2016. It is the most prestigious award in the industry, the Spiel des Jahres 2016.

One game of Codenames will take you 15 minutes. First, the players are divided into two teams of approximately equal strength, representing the spy units. One will be red and one will be blue. Each team then chooses its main spy. He's the only one who knows the identity of all the agents. The other players represent operatives, i.e. field workers. The spies sit on one side of the table and the operative sits across from them.

Before starting the game, the Codenames must be shuffled and then spread out 25 cards in a 5×5 grid. Then the spies draw lots and place a key card in the rack in front of them. They'll do it in a way that no operative can see her. The key card is formed by a 5 × 5 grid of coloured boxes. Red fields are guessed by agents from this team, blue fields are guessed by agents from the blue team. These are code names for these agents. There are also the beige fields of passers-by and the black field of the assassin.

The rules of the Codenames party game are quite simple. The master spies are the only ones who know the hidden identities of all 25 people. Provide your team with clues using ciphers so that the situation leads to guessing words of their colour. But beware. The game is immediately lost by the team that contacts the assassin.

In Codenames, teams of operatives try to decipher clues from master spies and then contact the appropriate people after touching a word with their fingers. The master spy subsequently discovers the true identity of the man who bore the code name. If the guessing team has guessed their agent, they can continue. Otherwise, it's the other team's turn. The team that manages to contact all of their agents first wins the game of Codenames.
