The Philips 75MLED820 TV combines Mini LED and Quantum Dot picture technologies on its 75" screen to display content in 4K Ultra HD resolution. A local dimming backlighting system contributes to high contrast, while the Quantum Dot layer expands the colour space. The P5 Perfect Picture Engine optimises picture processing from any source. The Titan OS operating system serves as a smart entertainment hub, offering access to popular streaming services. The sound experience is enhanced by support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound formats.

The 191cm (75") panel works with a 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840 × 2160) and a native refresh rate of 50/60Hz. The Mini LED backlighting system with local dimming precisely controls the brightness in individual zones, increasing the dynamic contrast between light and dark parts of a scene. The colour spectrum is expanded by a layer with Quantum Dot technology, which contributes to an accurate and vivid colour reproduction. The P5 Perfect Picture Engine analyses the source signal and enhances sharpness, contrast and motion fluidity in real time. The TV processes HDR10, HLG and the dynamic HDR10+ formats, which adjust the metadata for each frame separately.

The sound system, with a total power of 40W, consists of two full-range speakers. The TV integrates support for modern surround audio formats. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies work with sound as objects in a three-dimensional space, creating the impression that the sound is coming from different directions, including from above. The IntelliSound engine, along with features like room calibration, vocal enhancement and night mode, adjusts the performance according to the content being watched and the room's acoustics. The features also include support for the Dolby Digital AC4 standard and separate headphone volume control.

The Titan OS operating system provides a clear and fast environment for accessing content. The main screen brings together apps and recommendations from global streaming services, including Netflix, YouTube, HBO Max, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. For easy control and searching, you can use the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. This simplifies interaction with the TV. The software also includes support for HbbTV hybrid broadcasting and integration into the smart home via the Matter standard.

The TV offers gamers a game mode and support for cloud gaming services. The key technology is VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), which synchronises the panel's refresh rate with the output from a game console or computer. In this way, VRR reduces screen tearing and contributes to smoother motion at 60Hz. The TV also supports ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), which automatically switches the TV to low-latency mode when it detects a game signal. All game settings are clearly available via the Gamebar 2.0.

Connectivity options include three HDMI 2.0 ports that support HDCP 2.3 copy protection for connecting game consoles, soundbars or Blu-ray players. The HDMI 1 port also supports eARC for high-resolution audio transmission. There are also two USB ports for media playback from external drives. For wireless connectivity, there is dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.2. A digital optical audio output, headphone output and a CI+ slot for accessing TV channels are also included.

The TV has a thin black bezel that focuses attention on the screen. Two legs in an open triangular shape provide stability on furniture. For wall mounting, the TV supports VESA mounting with a size of 300 × 300mm. The dimensions of the TV including the stand are 1668 × 966 × 350mm and it weighs 23.84kg. Without the stand, the dimensions are 1668 × 986 × 66mm and the weight drops to 23.21kg. The remote control is made of recycled plastic and the packaging uses recycled FSC-certified cardboard.

In standard dynamic range (SDR) mode, the TV falls into energy class F with a consumption of 127kWh per 1,000 hours of operation. When viewing high dynamic range (HDR) content, it is classified as class G. In this mode, the electricity consumption is 212kWh. In standby mode, the power consumption is less than 0.5W. To reduce energy consumption, an ECO mode is available, as well as a light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment and an automatic switch-off function.
