The atomic beasts - mutated humans, relics of the last war - run around the world, and those who survived the atomic madness without mutation hide from them in shelters and fortified cities.
The arena is a place where traders from all corners of the world meet, where people have managed to survive and preserve at least the remnants of civilization. It's a place where you can both buy anything you can think of and lose your life. Not only in the fight for a few cans, but also in the tight alleys of the ancient city. In addition, the Arena is hosting an auction of perhaps the most important object in the world today. Who will gain access to the secrets of the atomic beasts and who will become dog food? The novice of the Church of the Nuclear Goddess and her companion have only two choices. And the first one is definitely beyond them.
Atomic Beasts is a new series by Kristýna Sněgoňová and František Kotleta. Welcome to the frantic postapo world of the best Czech fantasy authors.

It already has its own shelf in bookstores, and no wonder - it is the best-selling and most popular author of Czech fiction. He has already become one with his series Brotherhood of Blood (2010). Also legendary is the Fall series, about the world after World War III, followed by the two-part Underground and the paranormal detective series with private investigator Tomas Kosek. He followed it up with a cyberpunk swingers party, where his daughter Eva takes the reins of the fight with demons, magic and old gods.
With Kristýna Sněgoňová, they created the twelve-part space saga Legion, describing the story of the crew of the Kraksna, who fight against an alien invasion.
Behind the pseudonym hides journalist and screenwriter Leoš Kyša, author of the award-winning detective story Sudetenland, set in an alternative reality in which the Germans were not removed from the Czechoslovak borderlands, and the crime story Syndicate from the near future.
His books have been successfully published in Poland and also in the USA. As an editor he has sold out several anthologies of Czech and Slovak fiction.
Already with her first book she became the best-selling author of Czech fiction. Blood for a Rusalka (2018), a gritty noir detective story, brought to literature the world of fairies who live on the fringes of society and make a living as prostitutes. Her most successful is her postapo trilogy, City in the Clouds (2020), Earth in Ruins (2021) and World in Storm (2022), in which people must leave fortified cities built above the surface, to find out what's happened to their world and whether there's any hope of returning. This series became popular in Poland (Miasto w chmurach, 2024).
Kristýna Sněgoňová is also the editor of an urban fantasy anthology and the author of a fairy tale book for children.
Together with František Kotleta she created Legion, a fascinating space opera that has not only attracted tens of thousands of enthusiastic readers, but also many reprints. The Atomic Beasts series is another joint project of these seasoned authors.
