5 years after the double-platinum album Živých nás nedostanú, the album Najvyšší čas was released in 2019.
The recordings were made at Jano Baláž's studio in Bratislava, and Elán worked on it for more than a year. The mix was handled by Jano Baláž, Jožo Krajčovič and Peter Fambi Farnbauer. The mastering was done by Jano Červenka.
Guest vocals for the song 'Sekery a nože' were provided by Pavol Jursa, the co-author of several tracks, and the second guest on the album is Andráš Madarasz on harmonica in the song 'Sto životov'. The cover art was created by Alan Lesyk, a long-time friend of the band and the artist behind the designs of previous albums and their unmistakable logo.
The album also features the hit 'Ľúbim ťa'.
Elán is the most successful Czecho-Slovak rock band. They won the Czechoslovak Zlatý slavík (Golden Nightingale) award for Best Band four times in a row, from 1984 to 1987, and won the Slovak Zlatý slavík eight times in a row, from 1998 to 2005. Jožo Ráž also holds two Zlatý slavík awards as Singer of the Year for 2000 and 2001. Elán's concert in Prague at Letná on 20 September 2003 was attended by 85,000 people. Last year, this musical legend celebrated 50 years of existence.
