Living abroad means struggle, hard work, loneliness and courage. You have to give up many things and make sacrifices for others. Kateřina Karolová, winner of the 2018 Woman of the Year award, knows this all too well. For three years, she worked as a paediatrician in a German hospital and wrote about her experiences on her blog, which was voted Newcomer of the Year in 2018 by idnes.cz readers. A selection of her posts can be found in this book.
