Hanka's world is disrupted for the first time by her parents' unexpected divorce and alternate custody, which is decided by the court. In his father's new family, he meets Ales, the son of his father's wife. She should think of him as a brother, but she falls in love with him. Unhappily, because Ales sees her first and foremost as a sister. But that's not Hanka's only problem. First her father's and then her mother's death completely derails her, and Hanka struggles to find a way to cope, to find someone to lean on. At first she is helped by her grandmother, whose life story seems to foreshadow Hanča's fate. And then she meets Hubert, many years her senior, who does what he sees in her eyes. But was their meeting really accidental, or is Hubert pursuing his own goal?
I tilt my head and the drops that run down suddenly taste salty. A sharp summer shower and after it the silence smells so nice. Mom would say it's raining seas. When I fell down and started crying when I was a kid, it was always the sea raining. When my parents were getting divorced, the sea was raining, when my dad died, when my mom died, it rained too, and it's been raining ever since, even though I don't actually have any tears on my face.
