Pavel Nikolayevich Kornev was born in 1978 in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and graduated from a university with a degree in economics. He broke through as a writer in 2005 with the novel Ice, the first part of the five-part Borderlands series, and in 2006 he received the Sword Without a Name award from the Alfa-Kniga publishing house. This science fantasy series became his most popular work and has also been published in Polish, among other languages. Besides this, he has also written the Exorcist cycle, the City of Autumn, and several standalone novels and short stories. He mainly writes action-packed prose: science fantasy or fantasy with detective, steampunk or post-apocalyptic elements. He is currently a full-time writer.
