Zombies. Mutated animals. Biological weapons and surgically enhanced monsters. Secret laboratories and vast conspiracies. It seemed impossible, but Jill Valentine and the members of her S.T.A.R.S. team saw it with their own eyes when the Umbrella Corporation turned Raccoon City into a stage for the most insidious genetic experiments ever conducted. After everything she's been through, Valentine is ready to leave the isolated mountain community once and for all. But Umbrella isn't finished with Raccoon City yet.
There is still too much evidence of its unethical and immoral research. It must be retrieved or destroyed – and quickly – before its origins can be traced back to Umbrella. And with William Birkin's mutagenic virus spreading through the city like wildfire, drastic measures are needed.
Under the cover of darkness, teams of mercenaries have entered the city, along with something else – Umbrella's insurance policy: an enhanced version of its Tyrant-class killing machines, a deadly creature codenamed Nemesis, which has begun its hunt. And Jill Valentine is its prey. American author S. D. Perry, daughter of the well-known author Steve Perry, was born in 1970 and currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, two children, and two dogs.
In addition to short stories and film novelisations (e.g. Timecop), she specialises in books set in popular film and video game sci-fi series, such as Aliens, Aliens vs. Predator, and Star Trek. She has set a total of seven books in the cult world of the action zombie video game Resident Evil (1998–2004), starting with The Umbrella Conspiracy and ending with Zero Hour.
