How did Thor get his famous hammer, Mjölnir? How many worlds does the evergreen ash tree Yggdrasil connect? Who built the wall around Asgard, and what will follow the end of the world, known as Ragnarök? Neil Gaiman's retelling of Norse mythology not only answers all these questions but also weaves them into a coherent, expansive narrative where gods and giants come to life, mead flows freely, wolves speak, and apple trees bear the apples of immortality. An absolutely essential book for all lovers of Norse myths, the series American Gods, and Neil Gaiman's work in general.
