Pilgrims: Shadows on Rooftops - CD
This CD was created 3 to 6.10. 2019 in a private studio and Svata Kotas took care of the music and sound direction. There are 14 tracks on the album, 4 of which are orchestral. Except for the opening song, after which the CD is named, Shadows on Rooftops, they are all completely new or newer in the long-standing pilgrim repertoire. As far as the music is concerned, it was contributed by the members of the current line-up, banjo player Peter Mečiar and double bass player Jiri Pola - Karas. Ivo Cicvárek, Jaroslav Kratěna and Jiří Pola contributed to the lyrics. However, most of the lyrics were invented by a young talented poet from Trutnov - David Konopáč. The band stumbled upon him quite by accident after the band's Poli band member was interviewed on a radio show about the lack of lyricists for Pilgrims. David Konopáč applied on this basis. The arrangements for the instrumental tracks were devised by another current member of the group, mandolinist and singer Jan Máca, and for one by Peter Mečiar. The rest of the arrangements are the responsibility of the band as a whole. Solo vocals were shared by Pola and another current Pilgrim, singer and guitarist Jakub Bily.
