Rabbit Hole is a lively, hopeful, honest and unexpectedly funny portrait of a family searching for what is possible in the most impossible situations.
Becca and Howie Corbett (Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart) struggle to return to their normal everyday lives after waking up from a recent shocking loss. Eight months ago, they were a happy small-town family with everything they wanted. Now they are trapped in a maze of memories, in the maze of desire, guilt, blaming ourselves, sarcasm and emotion, from which there is no escape. As Becca comes to terms with her painful loss, Howie feels a sense of relief.
Changes result in sudden unexpected moments. Becca hesitantly confides in her stubbornly loving mother (Diane Wiest) and secretly searches for a young man (Miles Teller) involved in the accident that changed everything. During this, Howie finds comfort in the arms of another woman (Sandra Oh).
Even though their life is upside down, they try to find their way back to a life full of beauty, laughter and happiness. The result of the journey is a glimpse into the lives of two people who are re-learning to know each other and live in a world turned upside down.
