Kristýna Trpková
Kristýna Trpková (born 1996) lives in Holice near Pardubice, where she and her partner are raising three children. It was during her maternity leave that she discovered her love for detective stories – first as a reader, then as an author. She approaches writing with ease during her children's nap times. Although she herself claims she wouldn't recommend her impulsive approach to aspiring writers, her courage paid off: She simply wrote a book, sent it to a publisher, and it worked out. And how! Her series of cases featuring investigators Laura Linhartová and Adam Beneš is loved by readers and critics alike: The first instalment, The Beast (Stvůra, 2021), won the Jiří Marek Award for Best Detective Novel, and the subsequent books, The Village (Vesnice, 2022) and The Intruder (Vetřelec, 2023), have also been exceptionally successful with readers.
