The alcoholic's notebook
One last drink... for the fifth time today. A book based on a blog that won the Magnesia Litera Award.
Michaela Duffková is a young mother who has decided to talk openly about her alcohol addiction and her difficult treatment. Want to know why it's so hard to admit to a drinking problem? Why isn't a small child a barrier to addiction? What was the author's motivation for treatment and what was the first year after treatment like? All the answers are provided by the open and direct confession of an abstinent alcoholic.
The honestly shared experience of falling literally to the bottom aroused a lot of public interest, Michaela won the Magnesia Litera award for her blog and began to lecture publicly about addiction. Today he is working on his dream project - a centre for prevention and treatment of alcohol addiction.
They wrote about the book:
Miša Duffková's story is a great contribution to the destigmatization of female alcoholism and at the same time a unique testimony about pain and hope.
