He has been nominated for dozens of reading awards - in 2015 he won the National Book Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature and in 2017 he received the prestigious The Printz Award for his novel Death. One of the author's most successful series is the dystopian UNWIND, the first volume of which was published in Czech under the title Bez chance. He has also written scripts for films and television series such as Animorphs and Goosebumps. With his son Jarrod, he wrote the excellent thriller Drought, which reflects on the issue of climate change. The author's bestselling fantasy novel The Reaper has received two sequels - the second volume, Nimbus, and the third, The Bell, which concludes the trilogy. The author is the father of four children and lives in Southern California. VASIL FRIDRICH After graduating from the DAMU, he got an engagement at the Švand Theatre, then at the Central Bohemian Theatre in Kladno and in 2006-2018 he worked in the ensemble of the Prague City Theatres (ABC and ROKOKO). He is currently a member of the Drama Club. He hosts the talk show Noční Mikrofórum on the Czech Radio station Dvojka and also works in the field of radio drama and recording audiobooks. He has starred in the two-part TV film Methanol, The Hourly Husband, The Course of Marital Desire and the TV series Ninety or Street. JANA STRYKOVÁShe was born in Brno, but now lives with her family in Prague. She first took to the stage at the age of four, when as a member of the Mahen Theatre's children's choir she performed in the operetta Polish Blood. At grammar school she attended a drama club under the guidance of Dana Hlaváčová and performed amateur theatre in the Misery Loves Company. In 2003 she received the Walter Taub Award for the best graduates of acting at DAMU. Jana has worked in a number of theatres such as. Theater F. X. Šalda Liberec, Švandovo Theatre, Vinohrady Theatre and since September 2017 he has been performing at the National Theatre in Prague. On the television screen, Jana has appeared in many series such as. The Rose Garden, Dads on the Move, V. I. P. murder or in the films Les Misérables, Forbidden Release, The Hourly Husband and many others.
