Women with short nails
The audiobook Women with Short Nails, by Josef Pepson Snětivý, read by Filip Jančík, directed by Miloš Vrána.
Martin Lipavský is a writer, publisher and musician who, with an ironic smirk, ignores his middle age and the fact that his marriage to Jolana, the love of his life, has collapsed. However, at the launch of his latest book, three great women from his life appear, unplanned and independently of each other – the ageless beauty Sabina; the tough, capable lawyer Dagmar, who is attending the launch of a novel about the writer's past relationship with her; and Jolana herself, who fancies playing not only with the protagonist's ego.
However, the protagonist, for a change, fancies all three of them, and so he sets off a whirlwind of situations that ultimately lead him to discover why some women have short nails, how little cheeky wit helps when you're being held by the throat by someone very influential's gorilla, and that the aforementioned beauties can manage just fine without him. He and the three graces fall into blissful ecstasy and flat on their faces, only to rise again for new adventures of not just a rosy, but also a very dark nature.
And the surprising conclusion seems to turn your ideas of what kind of ending the hero and his clowder of cats deserve completely inside out.
