The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G80 camera delivers superior functionality by packaging a number of powerful systems and high-end technologies in a small, yet durable body that is ideally suited for a demanding terrain. The front panel of the chassis is reinforced with a magnesium alloy to protect the camera in the field or wherever you might be. This design ensures high resistance within a lightweight design. To ensure that the camera is not damaged by moisture or dust particles, all its selectors, buttons and inputs have been thoroughly sealed. Therefore, the sophisticated electronics inside the cameraarecarefully protected to keep it in the best condition to capture images of the highest quality.
Key features
A high-quality mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera for taking beautiful pictures anywhere
Precise shooting under all lighting conditions
Extra precision and powerful stabilisation (Dual IS 2)
Easy composition with a high-resolution, tilting display
Offers the perfect view even in very bright environments (OLED viewfinder, Live View Finder)
4K video recording or 4K images at 30 fps
Post Focus function allows you to select the specific focal point even after shooting
14-140mm (f3.5 - f5.6) lens
A built-in tripod
The LUMIX DMC-G80 has an improved version of the optical stabiliser called the Dual IS 2. As the name suggests, this gyroscopic technology adjusts the optical lens shift (O.I.S. - Optical Image Stabilizer) and B.I.S. (Body Image Stabilizer, 5-axis) which moves the sensor. The two systems coordinate perfectly to deliver extremely accurate results. Therefore, blurring caused by camera shake is greatly suppressed, for sharp pictures and videos even in low light conditions or when shooting in motion. In other words, you can afford to extend the exposure time by up to 5 EV compared to a camera without a stabiliser. Moreover, the stabiliser works with wide-angle lenses as well as with telephoto lenses.
Exceptionally beautiful images
The camera boasts the new Venus Engine image processor and Digital Live MOS, which have gained a reputation for fantastic results in low lighting conditions. The Venus Engine image processor reproduces vibrant, impressive colour, making it easy to fine-tune the hue, saturation, and luminosity. Alternatively, you can choose your own contrast, sharpness, saturation, and noise reduction settings to suit the environment and your shooting style. Together with the sensor, the image processor produces superb quality photos with excellent detail, striking contrasts and great colour rendering.
Maximum shooting speed
This camera will not only provide you with top-quality photos but also with amazing 4K video footage that is captured in fine detail. However, the support for 4K resolution is not just for movie lovers, but also for photographers. Each video frame can be saved as a separate image with a resolution of up to 8Mpx, which essentially is continuous shooting at an unbeatable speed of 30 frames per second. You no longer need to worry that you will miss the right time to press the shutter button in order to capture your unique moments.
Sensors (chips, sensors) of digital cameras record video information when photographing an object and then send it to the processor. According to the manufacturing technology they are divided into...
It determines how much light the camera can capture, which affects photo quality in dimmer light. It also influences how much the background behind the focused object will be blurred.
Determines how many details a camera can record in a single photograph. A higher value allows for printing larger formats and creating crops from the photograph without loss of quality.
Specifies the maximum number of frames per second that the camera can capture when the shutter button is pressed continuously. For interchangeable lens cameras (ILC), this is the sequential shooting speed under mechanical shutter.
Suppresses blur in photos and shaky video caused by hand movements. This allows for sharper photographs even in poor light or when using high magnification.
Video sound reinforcement is the process of recording sound when making a video. The type of sound that is recorded can have a significant impact on the overall quality of the video. Different types of video sound reinforcement include mono, stereo and surround sound. These types of sound offer different levels of sound depth and spatial orientation that can enhance the video viewing experience.
Lenses for cameras vary based on several different factors, including type, construction, focal length, and maximum aperture. The two basic types of lenses are fixed focus (prime) and zoom. Fixed lenses have a single focal length and are generally considered to be able to provide sharper and clearer images than zoom lenses. Zoom lenses allow you to vary the focal length and thus adjust the level of zoom in or out.
The minimum focal length is the smallest distance at which the lens can be focused. This value is usually given in millimetres and is a determinant of how close to the subject the camera can focus. Cameras with a lower minimum focal length can focus on objects that are closer to the lens.
The maximum focal length is the greatest distance at which the lens can be focused. This value is usually given in millimetres and is a determinant of how far away from the lens the camera can focus. Cameras with a higher maximum focal length can focus on objects that are further away from the lens.
