Compact USB MIDI controller Allen & Heath XONE: The K2 is great with any DAW/DJ software that supports MIDI (e.g. Ableton, Traktor Pro, Serato Scratch, etc. ). It is powered directly via USB and features a fully configurable MIDI interface with buttons illuminated in three colours. Its specialty is the Allen&Heath X-Link interface, which allows you to daisy chain and connect to other XONE models, saving you ports on your computer. XONE: The K2 contains 52 physical controls, 12 rotary potentiometers, 6 rotary encoders with push button, 4 linear pull potentiometers and 30 backlit buttons. In three layers you get a total of 171 MIDI commands. Built-in sound card with 44.1/48 kHz sampling sends one stereo channel from Windows/macOS to the main L+R (2× cinch) stereo output, and the other stereo channel goes to the 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. You can thus monitor the headphone presentation without interrupting the main output.
Using the X-Link protocol you can connect two K2 MIDI controllers and double the number of controls. The X-Link protocol works with a standard RJ-45 connector and transmits both data and power, saving one USB port on your computer. MIDI controller XONE: The K2 is made of robust plastic and the face is covered by a steel panel. The potentiometers are fixed with metal nuts. The package also includes a cleverly designed carrying case that can be used as a stand. This elegantly raises the K2 control panel to the height of most professional DJ mixing consoles.
