Cars with drum brakes have brake shoes, which contribute to effective braking. They store directly in the drum brake which they push when the car brakes. You can handle the installation of the shoes in the drum brakes yourself. After lifting the car with a jack, you lock it against movement. Then remove the wheel and replace the shoe in the brake system.
