What is rhodium plating?
Rhodium is a rare, chemically resistant metal. It occurs in nature predominantly as a pure metal usually together with other precious metals e.g. gold or silver. Rhodium plating is the process of galvanic deposition of a thin layer of rhodium on any metallic or metallized object. Recently, rhodium has become increasingly popular for rhodium-plating of silver jewellery family, which are rhodium-protected from oxidation and corrosion blackening. Moreover, Rhodium increases the lustre of jewellery.
