The main character is the idealistic, romantic and selfless Jane (K. Heigl), the eternally dedicated companion of her friends - brides, whose own happiness is in sight. Although - she is actually in love. But to his boss, who doesn' t marry twice in a relationship and not to a wedding at all.
That' s just with Jane. but she still has no idea. Jane always took great care of others, it was worse with taking care of herself.
She has been trying all her life to make the other person happy, and the twenty-seven “bridesmaid“ dresses in her wardrobes clearly prove it. One evening, Jane commutes devastatedly between two wedding celebrations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, followed by an annoying journalist Kevin (James Marsden), who writes articles about the wedding, even though he would rather do something more serious. Kevin feels that the article about Jane - as a wedding maniac - is great material. But between Jane and Kevin, it doesn' t spark twice. Rather the opposite.
Kevin laughs at what' s so important to Jane - weddings, which makes the two keep arguing. An already difficult evening will be exacerbated by the arrival of Jena' s younger sister, Tess (Malin Akerman), who immediately falls in love with George (Edward Burns), Jane' s boss, with whom Jane had planned to stay all her life. But out of nowhere, Tess assigns her always willing sister to plan another wedding - hers and George' s. But Jane' s feelings for George lead to shocking revelations. and perhaps to the beginning of a new life.
