After his arrest in 2003, the media quickly coined the nickname " Angel of Death" for nurse Charles Cullen. But Cullen didn' t kill out of compassion, nor was he a simple monster. He was a beloved son, husband, loving father, best friend, and a highly skilled and often praised caregiver. It is believed that he could be responsible for the deaths of up to 300 patients.
Charles Graeber presents Cullen as a surprisingly intelligent and troubled young man, whose promising career was ruined by a compulsion to kill, and whose shy demeanor masked his twisted inner self even from his family and closest friends. If it weren' t for two tireless, now former Newark homicide detectives, who worked hard, to put together all the pieces of the picture of Cullen' s career, and one of his work colleagues, who was willing to risk her job and the safety of her children, who knows, How many more human lives could have been ruined by his hands?
The book was made into a film called The Good Sister (Netflix, 2022) starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain. <! --[endif]-->
