The Next Erika Foster Case from the author of the hit book The Girl in the Ice
A cold London morning. A large trunk that washed up in the Thames. Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster and her colleague Moss already suspect that they're in for a pleasant surprise... But no one can ever be prepared for what they'll really find inside when they manage to open the rusty suitcase for the umpteenth time...
Although it's not the first time Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster has faced a brutal murder, a suitcase containing the dismembered body of a young man washed up on the banks of the Thames shocks her. Two weeks earlier, the body of a young woman was found in a similar suitcase. Is it just a coincidence, or will Erika and her team have to face a serial killer again? What do the two victims have in common? What about other cases that happened in a different district and under different circumstances? Could there be any points of contact with the case of the bodies in the suitcases? Moreover, crime, as we know, doesn't take holidays and Erika gets involved in a parallel case.
Robert Bryndza once again weaves and unravels a multi-layered story on multiple levels and leads the threads to an ending that may not shock the reader as much this time, but will certainly build strong emotions. Once again, he leaves everyone to answer for themselves the questions of what love beyond the grave means, what people are willing to risk or betray their friends for.
