‘ALL METALS CAN BE MELTED DOWN AND FORGED ANEW, AND BETTER…’ … even a being as resilient as Siranta Jax! Siranta has two new missions: one official, one personal. In her role as diplomat, she must negotiate an alliance with a supremely xenophobic race of oversized insects called the Ithtorians, who cling to tradition and view humans with resentment and physical disgust. Communicating with these intelligent insects is like constantly walking on a knife edge.
Siranta still has her good old ‘friend’ Constance by her side, as well as her helper Vel, an outcast of the Ithtorian race who is always on Siranta's side, no matter what. True, some of the insects are impressed by Siranta, as they find dominant females charming – but not all Ithtorians are in favour of her diplomatic mission. Some are so against it that Siranta will be glad to have the nobleman Jael watching her back.
But an even bigger unknown now is her lover, March. Physical contact with him is impossible and conversation is extremely difficult because, while the ice-cold March seemingly can't wait to get away from Siranta, her feelings for him are far from extinguished. Jax will therefore try to bring March ‘back’. If she lives to see the day, that is…
FANTOM Print publishing has prepared another instalment of the intelligent, engaging and thrilling Siranta Jax series for fans of space opera. Once again, it won't disappoint readers and is guaranteed to delight with its happy selection of characters, from charmingly inhuman-thinking artificial intelligences to humans and beings who undergo trials so demanding that it will take the breath away, and not just from the newly appointed diplomat.
