You blow into the foam
It's not going to be easy with the novel Blowing into the Foam, but it's going to be a ride
In Blowing into the Foam you meet the main character Vlaďka, who after a break-up gets into a car and decides to drive to the end of the world. And it will not be a ride through a rose garden, on the contrary, the road will be quite thorny in places. The book is about three generations of women who are not exactly connected by warm relationships. Daughter, mother, grandmother. the transmission of fate from generation to generation, a vicious circle.
Blowing you into a lather stretches the reader to the very last moment. In the story you will find everything you are used to with this writer. Relationships, failure, Trust, treason, romance, sexuality and mental pain. Not an optimistic reading, but a fairly faithful transcription of the thought processes of a woman who has been in a vicious circle since childhood.
They wrote about the book:
It will take your breath away in many ways. Radka Třeštíková's new novel Foukneš do pěna (You Blow into the Foam) bears her catchy handwriting, but at the same time goes further, pushing the boundaries of experience, hysteria, pain and sentence length.
I liked the book. Yeah, it's not the typical R style. Třeštíková, it reminded me more of P. Soukup, and she's the one I really like. The rawness of the ideas, the narrative. For me, a beautiful and profound insight into the wounded female soul as she journeys, remembers, tortures, heals.
