Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts after the holidays to start his second year. He does so despite a warning from the house-elf Dobby, who claims a deadly threat awaits him at the school. Harry pays no mind to the elf's cries, which cause more harm than good, but then strange things really do start to happen: mysterious messages appear on the walls, and several students are attacked by an unknown phantom.
