A mother, a daughter and a granddaughter. Three generations of one family. And a trip to the sea that, at first glance, looks like an ordinary girls' trip. But only the mother knows why she chose Sardinia as their destination and who she will be looking for on the island. Her daughter plans to get some serious rest on the beach. Nothing more. Nothing less. And the granddaughter? She can't wait for this whole awful family holiday to finally be over. Then there's Helena. A woman who hasn't been spoken of in the family for over fifty years and who wants nothing more than to be able to explain what really happened all that time ago.
A humorous novel that will soothe the soul and give you the courage to follow your dreams.
Barbora Majchráková (1985) graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague and currently works as a quality manager. She lives in a small village in South Bohemia and has been writing since childhood. Her debut novel, The Little Château (2022), which was about repairing a small, dilapidated château, but also about not giving up even when everything seems hopeless, was a huge success with readers. The author's next contribution to the genre of humorous literature for women was the novel Under the Chestnut Tree. Should we do what we long for at all costs, even if those around us discourage us? Does it sometimes pay to listen to wise advice? You can forget your everyday worries, have a laugh, and be encouraged to fulfil your own dreams with the author's next romantic book full of humour, The House in Raspberry Valley.
