The healing power of stones
The book was written by the physician and mineral lover MUDr. Miroslav Procházka. His interest in traditional systems of medicine and ethnomedicine has led him to look closely at the phenomenon of gemstones in the medical sciences.
The colour publication is richly documented with photographs. The author of the pictures of the stones is Mgr. Lubomir Thin.
After all, until recently, the price of a stone was not formed by aesthetic criteria, but by the possibility of pragmatic use in therapy, influencing the mood, setting the thought processes of the wearer!
Stones and semi-precious stones have fascinated mankind since ancient times. The healing power of crystals was discovered by people in the Dark Ages. What is interesting is the coincidence of cultures, distant in time and space, in their view of the effects of specific gemstones. The information in the book is gathered from various ancient sources and is intended to provide the reader with information about this interesting area, but is not a guide to self-medication. As early as the 1970s, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended the study of traditional techniques, which may include many rational mechanisms of action that are still valid in the 21st century.
The uniqueness of this book also lies in the professional photo gallery of individual gems. In the appendix, the stones are also assigned to the individual signs of the zodiac, the days of the week.
