Ice grave

Audiobook The Ice Grave, author Dana Stabenow, translated by Hana Láryšová. Read by Lucie Juřičková, directed by Jan Bláha. Kate Shugakova #13 KATE SHUGAKOVA INVESTIGATES THE MURDER OF A MAN FOUND IN AN ICE CAVE… In one of Alaska' s melting glaciers, the frozen body of Len Dreyer, a reclusive but skilled craftsman who was willing to help anyone and take on any job, is found. Kate Shugak, who hired him to work on her property, joins forces with state trooper Jim Chopin to follow a cold lead to track down a ruthless killer. The turning point comes when they discover together that Len may not have been who he claimed to be - and that Len' s past may be the key to unraveling the mystery of his death. Step by step, Kate pieces together a picture of a man hiding a darker secret than anyone suspected. He questions the locals for whom Len Dreyer worked and discovers that they know more than they are willing to admit. And the deeper Kate delves into the case, the clearer it is, that it' s more than just one crime and that Lena' s past may threaten her own life. DANA STABENOW Dana Stabenow was born in 1952 in Anchorage, Alaska, and grew up on a fishing boat, where, between bouts of seasickness, she wrote stories about " normal" children, that grow on land, and forced her mother, to read them. She studied journalism at the University of Alaska and then set off on a four-month backpacking trip through Europe. After returning, she worked for Alyeska Pipeline and British Petroleum, and in her thirties she decided that she did not want to spend her life in the service of oil magnates and would rather become a poor writer. She promised herself that she would publish her first book before she found herself completely broke, and she just barely managed to do it. In 1991, her debut novel, The Second Star, was published, and a year later, the first volume of the popular Kate Shugak series, A Cold Day for Murder, which won the Edgar Award in 1993. LUCIE JUŘIČKOVÁ She comes from an artistic family and was born in Pilsen, where her father František Juřička (1927) worked as a director on the radio. He was eventually persecuted for his civic stances and active work in 1968 and ended up as a political prisoner during normalization. Lucie Juřičková' s mother, Marie Grafnetterová (1933), was an actress and singer who was a long-time star of the operetta troupe of the Pilsen J. K. Tyler. After graduating from the conservatory, she got her first job at the Jiří Wolker Theater in Prague. She worked in various Prague theaters. He is currently engaged at the National Theatre. In addition to theater, he is mainly engaged in dubbing. Her husband is actor Martin Zahálka, who is also active in dubbing.
