The more modern the era, the less he likes it. He hates crowds, yet he's constantly surrounded by people. He does none of the things he studied for. He doesn't have enough money to buy what he wants. He doesn't see the friends he loves often enough. He's never found a job he enjoyed. He loathes the systems that make the modern world run. In his view, the planet's biggest problem is overpopulation. When he watches Armageddon, he roots for the asteroid.
