Agatha Christie considered The Endless Night to be her favourite novel. The story is more psychological this time, reminiscent of the Noir style. Christie finished Endless Night in six weeks, while most of her other novels took three to four months to write.
Although she was over seventy years old when she wrote it, she said in an interview that being Michael, a twenty-year-old narrator, "wasn't hard. After all, you hear people like him talking all the time".
