Mr Auťák and Fantomas
Pan Tomasz on the Trail of Fantomas.
Pan Tomasz, nicknamed Mr. Car, is searching for missing works of art. An experienced official from the Polish Ministry of Culture, he has solved more than one mystery. He arrives in France at the invitation of the owner of the Six Dames castle, who is being threatened by “Fantomas” with the theft of his most valuable painting.
Rare paintings are disappearing from several French galleries, mysteriously replaced by perfect forgeries. Behind it all is an elusive thief operating under the name Fantomas. At the invitation of the owner of the Six Dames castle, Mr. Car also comes to France to prevent the theft of the most valuable work – Renoir's Plage – and to reveal the identity of the mysterious perpetrator. Insurance detective Gaspard Pigeon and the enigmatic private detective Robinoux are also on the trail of the missing paintings. However, Mr. Car, with his young friends Yvonne and Robert and his eccentric aunt, is always one step ahead. He gradually uncovers the sophisticated method of the thefts, yet Fantomas continues to elude him…
