Providence of fire

The second volume of the epic fantasy saga, The Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne, is here!

The emperor’s murder was not the end. An ancient race, known as the Builders, the Child-killers or the Csestriim, left behind a vast network of portals that can only be traversed by a person utterly devoid of emotion. Kaden, the official heir to the Unhewn Throne, knows little about this secret weapon. What else did his father, murdered by conspirators, fail to tell him? To learn more, Kaden seeks out the mysterious Ishien, who know a great deal about the legendary race…

Kaden's sister Adare, the eldest of the Emperor's Blades, flees her life of luxury and embarks on an arduous journey to find allies among the Sons of Flame, whom she recently made enemies of through a tragic mistake. She also seeks to fight her former lover, a brilliant general and strategist who betrayed her and murdered her father. Who will ultimately take control of the empire, now facing a new threat from a bloodthirsty nation of nomads? Valyn hui’Malkeenian, the third Emperor's Blade and youngest imperial child, a deserter from the elite Kettral, must leave Kaden with the rest of his wing to confront another scourge that has been growing unnoticed just beyond the empire's borders.
