River of Gods III - The Wizard

The audiobook River of Gods III - The Wizard contains the third volume of the adventure series written by Wilbur Smith. Translation by Václav Vanduch. Read by Vasil Fridrich. Directed by Miloš Vrána. River of Gods #3 In the third episode of River of Gods, Wilbur Smith returns to ancient Egypt. Meanwhile, the eunuch Taita, known from the first episode, has become a powerful magician. This time the author has let his imagination run wild and the story is full of magic and enchantment. It may take a while for readers used to traditional adventure novels to get used to the somewhat unusual blending with the fantasy genre, but the story is, as always, very engaging. Taita protects the young prince Nefer, grandson of Queen Lotris, who will be familiar to readers of the first volume. Nefer's father, Pharaoh Tamos, is assassinated by Lord Najou, who is vying for his throne. This puts Nefer in great danger and when he learns the truth about his father's death, he swears revenge on Naj. WILBUR SMITH Wilbur Smith was born on 9 January 1933 in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) to British parents. The author of more than three dozen readable, suspenseful novels based on historical facts and other realities, he remains an active author. Africa is his constant inspiration. He puts his heart into his stories, but at the same time he consistently and vividly works on authenticity and every detail. He raised two sons and a daughter with his wife, Daniele Thomas, who assisted him for three decades in researching and collecting material and who was herself a gifted author. He currently lives in London, but his interest in Africa and its wildlife remains. Smith's books can be classified into three main series, according to the families they deal with or the time periods in which they are set. These are the stories of the Courtney family, the Ballantyne saga and the novels of ancient Egypt. In addition, he has published about ten separate novels. VASIL FRIDRICH Graduated from DAMU, during his studies he also performed in the theatre association Kašpar and in the J. K. Tyla in Pilsen. In 1995 he became a member of CD 94 at the Theatre in Celetná. After graduation he got an engagement at the Švanda Theatre, in 2002-2005 he worked at the Central Bohemian Theatre in Kladno. He currently works at the Prague City Theatres. He has starred in the two-part TV film Methanol (2018), The Hourly Husband (2014), Cobras and Snails (2015), The Tiger Theory (2016) and the TV series The World Beneath My Head (2017).
