The sweetness of forgetting
Despite her menu, Hope has lost faith in true love. His emotionally cold mother has died, his mysterious grandmother, suffering from Alzheimer' s disease, has lost her memory, and her twelve-year-old daughter blames her for the breakup of an already dysfunctional marriage. In addition, he is in danger of losing his only source of livelihood, the family confectionery, due to financial problems.
One day, in a rare moment of clarity, her grandmother hands her a piece of paper with the names of seven people and asks her to go to Paris and find out what happened to them. That' s how Hope learns about her family' s Jewish origins, about the origin of the cookies from their pastry shop, but especially about the tragic great love of her grandmother, who has been remembering her for seventy years every night with her eyes fixed on the stars. Will Hope find her lost relatives? And will he find the lost faith in the deepest human feelings?
