THE PERFECT FIVE at the seaside
The holidays are here!
The Famous Five are going to a farm in the village of Tremannon. They promise each other they won't get involved in any adventures this time. But the opposite turns out to be true. The grandfather of their new friend, Yan, was once one of the wreckers who sent light signals from a tower inland to lure ships in storms, causing them to wreck so the wreckers could plunder them. The children discover the abandoned tower from which the wreckers sent the signals. But is the tower really abandoned? And who is sneaking away from the farm at night? And where are they going?
In the twelfth story of the iconic twenty-one-part series, which has been adapted for film three times in Britain and has also been in German production since 2012, the Famous Five may be facing extraordinary danger. After all, wrecking was punishable by death!
“Michaela Maurerová's interpretation is lively and suits the children's adventure well. This makes the audiobook very pleasant and ideal for family travel or listening together at home.”
“A classic of the genre, we and the children simply love them! (…) We always eagerly await the next narrated book. I can't imagine it now without Míša Maurerová's interpretation! Highly recommended for children aged 5+.” – from listener feedback on Audiolibrix.com
“Oh, what a treat, the Barnies are coming again next week. You’ll like them a lot.”
“Who are the Barnies?” George asked the joyfully excited Mrs Penruthlan.
“They’re a troupe of actors. They always tour the villages in the summer and put on shows in large barns. You see, the cinema is far from here, so the Barnies always cheer us up.” – excerpt from the book
