The adventurous life of Eduard Ingris
To prove his theory that the prehistoric inhabitants of the Pacific might be descendants of South American civilizations, the sailor and adventurer Thor Heyerdahl built a raft and set out to sea. He had the whole world and the whole wild Pacific against him. Eduard Ingris, a highly successful Czech conductor and composer, tramp and sailor, and later an award-winning filmmaker, followed his example and undertook two adventurous expeditions in the 1950s. He has shaken hands with presidents, befriended Hollywood celebrities, had his music nominated for an Academy Award, been an advisor to writer Ernest Hemingway and a friend of Thor Heyerdahl. And in his native country he almost fell into oblivion.

He's a writer, Editor, Screenwriter, directed many documentaries, publishes travel reports, organizes a travel festival, getting to know and getting closer to the Unknown Land, organizes and participates in many expeditions. In 1995, he was the first to publish the book Bull Rock or Cave Full of Questions with Professor Antonín Přichystal. Together with Petr Horký he wrote six other books: Two journeys to archaeology, Elephants live to be a hundred years old (with M. Zikmund), The Hunt for the Giant Worm, Cuba Libre (Egon Erwin Kisch Award), Albania - a Beauty with a Bad Reputation and The Century of Miroslav Zikmund - A Travelogue through Life (with M. Zikmund and V. Krocem). He is the editor of a two-volume collection of the works of travellers Hanzelka and Zikmund Legend H+Z - a phenomenon of Czech travel writing. For several years he has been systematically working on a treatise on the Renaissance traveller Kryštof Harant. Since 2012 he has been the editor-in-chief of the interactive magazine Srdcaři.cz. His first book, "Suicide Cruises" from 2009, has already been published in three editions.
