At the beginning was the fascinating discovery of the diary and correspondence of a Czechoslovak legionary who fought in Russia during World War I for the independence of our future republic. On the basis of these documents and the testimonies of family members, his son, Jan Kučera, put together the story of his life. The narrative follows the book "The Secret Diary of a Russian Legionnaire".

The book gained unexpected popularity among readers and at their request the author told the story of the legionary's life to the end. In the second part, we return to our protagonist at the moment of his peak happiness and follow his life's fate exactly as two gypsy women predicted it in his youth. We will find out if his life dream will come true, experience three marriages, other loves and the longed-for birth of his son. The second volume is no less dramatic than the first book, and it is only here that the hero's fate comes to a close.
