The first part of a fantasy series by the British video game creator and expert on the dark souls of today's teenage partygoers
"When he woke up, he found he was in bed... He looked down at himself. He still had the body of a human child. It was not a dream."
Bummer on the nth! The Dark Lord has lost his battle with the magic of Good - BANG! - and a giant space hiccup hurled it into the parking lot of a department store in the southern English town of White Shields. The former arch-rival and ruler of the Dark Kingdom is lying around in the body of a thirteen-year-old brat, confused as to what he will do on the tiny planet Earth. By all hell, what could be worse? Well, you bet, dear children, that treachery and adversity are yet to take their toll on him. As soon as the police, doctors and social services examine him, they will assign him to well-meaning foster parents, so that the poor orphan will become a little more civilized after the concussion and, most importantly, will NOT be in such terrible pain all the time. The local correctional facility called the school already KILLS him. Do these brainless people still not realize what a magnificent thief they are dealing with?
The first part of a fantasy series by a British video game creator and expert on the gloomy souls of today's teenagers. His slapstick won the annual Roald Dahl Prize for the funniest prose for young people.
