Audiobook The Boy Who Wasn't a Jew, by Petra Manišová, read by Hynek Mikuš, directed by Ondřej Černý. A NOVEL ABOUT THE TRUE STORY OF A BOY WHO WAS MISTAKENLY ARRESTED BY THE GESTAPO. Milek is a ten-year-old boy from Zarazice, who loves trains and everything that goes with it. Despite his parents' prohibition, the boy cannot resist the new train set that his friend Ríša has received. And so, right after he puts down his school bag at home, he runs to Ríš. But Ríša is Jewish, his parents own a general store, and it' s 1940. The boys are playing together in the apartment above the store when they hear Ríša' s mother screaming for them to run and hide. They don' t make it, and so Milek finds himself in the hands of the Gestapo and transported to a labor camp in Linz. The story, written by the granddaughter of the main protagonist, is based on real events. PETRA MANIŠOVÁ Petra Manišová (1980) teaches Czech language and literature at the Secondary Wine School in Valtice. She studied special education at the Faculty of Education in Brno and Czech language and literature at the Faculty of Education in Olomouc. With her students, she is involved in amateur theatre, which is how her first original plays were created - The Ninth Anniversary and The Last Hour, thanks to which she received an honorary mention at the theatre show in Kojetín in 2018 for her practical demonstration of "school through play". He lives with his family in his native Valtice, loves books of all genres and the sea. HYNEK MIKUŠ Hynek Mikuš is a Czech actor currently working at the National Theatre Brno. He is a guest actor in the drama ensemble of the National Theatre Brno. Among his important theatre roles is his performance in the production From the Life of Insects by the brothers Karel and Josef Čapek. In film, he became famous mainly for his role in the mystery series The Hunter (2024) directed by Jiří Strach, where he portrayed the character of a young monk.
