Kateřina Šardická is an author, a young adult literature editor at Host publishing house, and an occasional screenwriter. She studied film theory and history at Masaryk University and her professional life revolves around books, film, and television. She is the author of the award-winning young adult novels The Disappearance of Sára Lindertová (2019), a detective story with fantasy elements, and the Slavic thriller set in an abandoned village, Nights of the Demons (2020). Her screenplay City of Metal and Stone (the first version of the script for the comic Stella and the Guardians of the Veil) won 1st prize in the Albatros Literary Competition in 2021. She has also published short stories in the collections The Most Beautiful Gift, Stories from the Dark, The Bell Rings in Five Minutes, and In the Glow of the Sun, as well as a horror short story in the anthology The Child Was Orphaned. For several years, she worked as a script editor at Czech Television, primarily on documentary series, live broadcasts, and children's programmes.
