The Maiden of the Sands
The squire Ota waits in Písek for the arrival of the Czech King Přemysl II. Otakar, accompanied by Oldřich of Chlum. As it is a sultry summer, he goes for a swim at the Otava River, where he meets a naked girl who introduces herself as the wife of the powerful Bavarian from Strakonice. However, he soon learns that the girl lied to him. He begins to search for her and becomes more and more involved in the strange mystery of the lost jewels. In the meantime, someone murders a provincial judge. And more murders follow. Fortunately, Oldřich from Chlum arrives in Písek together with the commander Diviš and together with Ota they start searching. It soon becomes apparent that uncovering the truth could be very dangerous, as the clues lead to the most important members of the royal court.
