Viah: Tears of a Giant - CD

Viah's debut album, Tears of a Giant, reflects the cornerstones of her personality: fragility, suggestiveness, and emotional depth. Born in Prague in 1995 to parents of Vietnamese origin, Viah spent years in the world of dance and theatre before retreating to her room with a piano at the age of seventeen, which is when she truly began to work with her voice.

A pivotal moment for her was participating in SuperStar and subsequently connecting with music producer Jiří Burian. Thanks to him, she became the vocalist and keyboardist for the indie band Republic of Two, a dancer in the Kapitán Demo project, but most importantly, Viah. Her work primarily explores themes of identity and authenticity. The intimate vocals are wrapped in Jiří Burian's electronic production, accompanied by the voices of Justin Lavash, Jiří Burian, and Niro Baits.

The electropop record is distinctive for its non-specific sound. The songs reflect experiments with Viah's voice across several different compositions; sometimes it's purely her voice with a piano backing, other times it's a magnificent stadium-sized chorus.
