Several years have passed since Kripala's first life-changing trip to India. Although he always knew he wanted to return to the land fragrant with spices, he never imagined it would be so soon and for such sad reasons.
He hopes that reuniting with his teacher, Tatandji, will bring at least a little peace to his soul. But as if he wasn't already dealing with enough serious hardship, when he arrives at the ashram, he finds only overturned furniture and disarray. There is no sign of Tatandji. He finds only an adorable blue-eyed kitten, which he later names Shakti, and a peculiar notebook with even more peculiar notes.
And it is here, in the empty and destroyed ashram, that Kripala's next journey begins—a journey to find Tatandji, his birthplace and the mysterious place called “The Village of the Timeless Monks,” a journey to rediscover inner peace and a better understanding of himself. Along the way, he will meet many beautiful and kindred souls, delve a little deeper into the spiritual world of the local people, but he will also have to deal with people who, like him, yearn for clues leading to the dreamlike and blissful village. Will Kripala succeed in triumphing over the villains, but above all, over himself, once again?
