The writer, popular in the Czech Republic, is able to expose the ills of today's world like few others, aptly, harshly, but with wit and insight. For years he has been travelling the planet from place to place, observing the changes in society.
It happens almost everywhere. New York, Berlin, Sydney, Tel Aviv... Once tolerant liberals have become whiny progressives, who love to dictate to others above all else, what to do, how to live and what to think. And also what we are allowed to talk about, because political correctness rules the times. This then reflects a truth thousands of years old: Jews are not exactly popular. Why is that? Tuvia Tenenbom is looking for answers to this question not only in the West, but also on the border with Gaza, in Saudi Arabia and in Ukraine. And, of course, in the Czech Republic.
He meets with politicians, journalists, activists, refugees, celebrities, a Jewish Muslim woman from Brno, black people, Arabs, Aborigines, Nazis, anarchists... He asks them all clever and seemingly naive questions, to provoke them - which he often does - and find out what he really thinks. He then composes a picture that is an extremely funny and alarming message about the world today. If Tuvia Tenenbom really isn't something, then she's definitely politically correct. His book is full of entertaining dialogue and insightful observations. But behind all the wit there are often surprising and harsh truths we would rather not know. Tenenbom is neither left nor right, he simply wants to know the truth. And so he irritates everybody.
