Extremely durable SLR camera
Pentax offers something more in its DSLRs than we're familiar with from other brands, and that's significantly more durable workmanship. Quality materials are a given, but a range of seals have been added to allow the K1 Mark II to operate without problems where other DSLRs would be minimally risky. You can shoot with it in dusty environments with ease. It doesn't mind rain, humidity or splashing water. Last but not least, it works reliably down to temperatures as low as -10 °C. Totaling 87 sealed parts, its durability is further enhanced by the use of the D-BG6 battery grip and AW (all weather) or WR (water resistance) lenses, making it an excellent device for the field, on the road, and in severely difficult conditions. For example, for nighttime photography, it features the option to switch to a red backlight display, which saves your eyesight and allows you to fully focus on the environment around you.
Pentax K1 Mark II with hardware for the discerning
At the heart of the camera is a full-frame CMOS sensor without an AA (anti-aliasing) filter with a resolution of 36 MPx, promising higher resolution and exceptional image quality. Fast and reliable operation is ensured by the proven Prime IV processor, which gives the camera a continuous burst shooting speed of up to 4.4 fps in a continuous burst of 70 JPEG or 17 RAW images. Thanks to the new Acceleration Unit, the ISO setting range has been increased to 819,200, allowing you to take action that would be highly risky on other machines at the very least. Modified 5-axis SR II stabilisation compensates for shake in both vertical and horizontal directions. The compensation range is up to 5 shutter speed steps, which expands the possibilities for handheld exposure, and the qualities of this system can also be seen, for example, in panoramic shooting.
Snapshots (Open Gate) ensure maximum flexibility
An interesting and unusual bonus that sets Pentax apart again is the auxiliary working LEDs. There are four of them, located at the bayonet, behind the display, in the memory card slot and in the remote self-timer connector. The best use of this function is, of course, at night, when all the manipulation with the camera is greatly simplified. The K1 II features a large 3.2" TFT LCD display with adjustable brightness and, most importantly, a maximally flexible flip-up design. This makes it easy to adjust the live view to the ideal angle from virtually any position. Should the brightness of the display be obscured by direct daylight, there is a prismatic viewfinder that boasts 100% preview. You'll also appreciate the dual SD memory card slot. You can choose burst storage, where the camera automatically starts saving to the second card when the first card is full. The second option is to duplicate the data for backup, and the third option is to store separately according to RAW and JPEG formats, each on one card. Copying between cards is also possible.

The Pentax K1 Mark II has a sophisticated advanced function selection wheel. After a quick setup, you can immediately move on to the second one - correction and further adjusts the selected function in detail. So always rely on the very user-friendly setting options. The camera allows for user customization of the buttons and offers up to 5 user modes. In addition to WiFi and GPS module, the camera is equipped with an electronic compass. The combination of GPS, compass and SR II provides a better capability to image the night sky and celestial objects. K1 II can calculate the motion of objects in the sky with high accuracy based on position data and other factors, improving long shutter speed photos. The mode is called Astrotracer and allows you to image even stars that are very hard to see with the eye.

Exceptional image quality
The optics consist of 17 lenses in 12 groups, including three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, one anomalous glass aspherical element and three aspherical elements designed for ultra-high resolution sensors. The lens provides sufficient illumination even at the edges of the image and minimizes optical defects, achieving high MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) values and producing sharp, detailed and contrasty images across the entire image area. When used on current PENTAX K series bodies, the lens uses only the center of the image for consistent, high quality images.

HD finish for better image and rounded aperture
The lens features a multi-layer HD (High Definition) coating developed by PENTAX. Compared to conventional multilayer treatments, it improves light transmission and reduces reflectivity in the visible spectrum. The result is clear, high-contrast images with minimal haze and flare, even in difficult lighting conditions such as against the light. The rounded aperture creates a smooth and aesthetic bokeh (background blur) while minimizing unwanted light streaks from point light sources.

Bright standard zoom
When used on a full-frame DSLR with a 35mm sensor, the zoom offers a range of approximately 2.9x from ultra-wide angle to standard focal length (24-70mm). The lens has a constant maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the range, ensuring clear and sharp images. Covering the most commonly used focal length range, it also enables creative shots with a distinctive perspective and depth of field, suitable for landscapes or interiors, for example. On cameras with an APS-C sensor, the corresponding range is 37-107mm, which covers wide-angle to medium telephoto shots. The high aperture allows you to create a beautiful bokeh effect while shooting handheld in lower light conditions.
Ultrasonic AF motor (SDM)
The lens is equipped with the original PENTAX SDM autofocus driven by a built-in ultrasonic motor, which ensures smooth and quiet focusing operation. When mounted on compatible PENTAX K-mount bodies, focusing is automatically switched to SDM mode for reliable and error-free autofocus. The lens is compatible with models such as the K-3 Mark III, K-3II, K-3, K-5 II, K-5 II pp, K-30, K-01, K-5, K-r, K-7, K-x, K-m, K20D, K200D, K100D Super and K10D (with firmware version 1.30 and later). On other bodies, autofocus is deactivated and switches to manual focus.
Weather-resistant construction and handy zoom lock
The lens is equipped with reliable weather resistance thanks to special seals that prevent water from entering. Combined with the durable PENTAX body, it guarantees continuous and reliable operation even in harsh conditions such as rain, fog or water-sprayed environments. The lens is also equipped with a zoom lock lever that prevents unintentional extension of the tube when pointing the lens down.

Quick-Shift Focus System
The Quick-Shift Focus System allows you to instantly adjust the focus manually after autofocusing without switching AF/MF modes, which is convenient for macro photography for fine-tuning the focus, for example. A large sun visor is also included to minimize glare and veils created by backlight and harsh lighting conditions. The lens is designed so that the front of the lens does not rotate when zooming and focusing, which facilitates the use of circular polarizing filters that can be conveniently operated thanks to the small aperture.
PENTAX K bayonet
The PENTAX K bayonet is the original bayonet for PENTAX interchangeable lenses, unchanged since its introduction in 1975. It offers high lens aperture, easy lens change, precision and durability. It allows the incorporation of aperture control mechanisms, autofocus and other functions while maintaining compatibility with previous lens models and bodies. The PENTAX K bayonet thus maintains a high level of versatility despite differences in camera and lens functions.
