Perfect Sound in Every Room
Easily connect Sonos speakers in different rooms via Wi-Fi to create a home sound system that brings every room and every speaker together. For optimal performance, it is recommended to purchase the Sonos Amp.
System Type
An active speaker is one that has a built-in amplifier, so all you need to do to listen is connect it to a sound source, either wired or wirelessly.Passive speakers are more often referred to as speaker systems. They are designed for high-quality, loud and dynamic listening in the comfort of your home and are not suitable for frequent moving. The main advantage of passive speakers is the ability to connect a variety of sources through a separate amplifier.
Number of Channels
For speaker systems and home cinemas, the number of channels indicates the number of independent audio signals (speakers) and subwoofers, most often in X.Y format (e.g. 2.0, 5.1). It indicates how many audio tracks are reproduced simultaneously, which determines the spatial experience and bass depth of the system, from basic stereo sound (2.0) to surround sound (5.1 and above).Specifications
