40" Thomson 40FG2S15

The Thomson 40FG2S15 TV brings Full HD resolution to its 101cm (40") screen. The panel uses Direct LED technology for uniform backlighting and rich colours. As a Smart TV with the Google TV operating system, it opens up access to a wide range of streaming services and apps, which the system intelligently organises according to your preferences. The integrated Chromecast simplifies sharing content from mobile phones or tablets directly to the big screen. A wireless Bluetooth remote with backlit buttons adds to the convenience of control.

Picture quality

The 101cm (40") screen displays content in Full HD resolution (1920×1080). The panel, with its 60Hz refresh rate and Direct LED backlighting, is complemented by support for the HDR10 standard for better contrast and more vibrant colours. The 8-bit colour depth displays 16 million shades. Additionally, dynamic noise reduction technology actively cleans the picture of visual artefacts, resulting in sharper details.

Sound technologies

Two speakers with a total output of 16W produce the sound. Dolby Audio technology optimises the sound performance for clearer dialogue and details in individual scenes. The TV also decodes the DTS Digital Surround format, which contributes to a more spatial perception of sound when watching films. A built-in equaliser is available for individual adjustments, and an automatic volume control function prevents sudden sound spikes.

Smart features and control

The Google TV operating system unifies content from various streaming services onto a single home screen. Voice control via Google Assistant can search for films, launch apps, or answer questions. A Bluetooth remote control with backlit buttons is included, offering direct access to popular apps like Netflix or YouTube. The built-in Chromecast enables wireless content mirroring.

Connectivity options

For connecting external devices, there are three HDMI 1.4 inputs, one of which supports the ARC function for easy connection to a soundbar. Two USB 2.0 ports are also available for media playback. A stable internet connection is provided by dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz) or a wired LAN port. You can connect wireless accessories via Bluetooth 5.1, and receive paid television using the CI+ slot. The integrated DVB-T2/C/S2 tuners support HEVC encoding.

Installation

The back of the TV is equipped with holes for a VESA mount with a 200×200mm spacing, which enables wall mounting. The gross weight is 8.2kg, and the net weight is 5.5kg. The dimensions with the stand are 892×172×559mm, and without the stand, they are 892×84×509mm. The TV features a frameless design.
