I have ordered it on the 19th of November and still no information about the delivery date. It is a shame, I have always shopped from Alza for the last 8 years and never been such disappointed in communication.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is built on the Zen 5 architecture and uses the AM5 socket, making it compatible with current motherboards. It is aimed primarily at gaming rigs, where it can unleash its full potential. Its 8-core, 16-thread design, combined with an expanded cache, delivers high computing performance for gaming and demanding applications. The processor runs at a base frequency of 4.7GHz and automatically boosts its clock speed up to 5.2GHz under load using Precision Boost 2 technology.

Key features of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor
- Zen 5 architecture delivers an intergenerational performance increase
- Expanded L3 cache with 3D V-Cache technology reduces in-game latency
- High number of physical cores enables simultaneous multi-threading
- High base core clock speed automatically increases according to the current load
- Unlocked multiplier with AMD EXPO and PBO technologies expands tuning options
- The AM5 platform uses DDR5 memory and the PCIe 5.0 interface
- Optimised thermal performance handles even demanding use
Performance with 3D V-Cache technology
The key feature of this processor is the second generation of AMD 3D V-Cache technology. This method stacks additional cache memory directly onto the chip, increasing the total L3 cache to 96MB. This gives the processor faster access to data, reduces latency, and directly contributes to a higher frame rate in games that are sensitive to memory speed.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor platform
The processor is part of the AM5 platform, which brings support for modern standards. It works exclusively with DDR5 RAM, which offers higher throughput and efficiency. It also uses the PCIe 5.0 communication interface, doubling the transfer speed over the previous generation for graphics cards and NVMe SSD storage.
Tuning the performance of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor
The unlocked multiplier, combined with a suitable motherboard, opens up the possibility for manual overclocking. AMD EXPO technology ensures easy setup of memory profiles, while Precision Boost Overdrive optimises performance automatically. The thermal design power (TDP) is 120W. To maintain stability under full load, we recommend installing a high-performance liquid cooling system.

Processor cores and threads
Processor cores work, to some extent, like separate processors and can handle computing tasks independently of each other. This means the more physical cores a processor has, the more tasks it can process simultaneously. Threads can be described as separate virtual cores, which all modern processors have. An eight-core processor typically has sixteen threads, enabling it to process sixteen processes at the same time.
Processor frequency
The operating frequency indicates the speed of the processor. Generally, a processor with a higher frequency can execute instructions faster than one with a lower frequency. A higher frequency ensures snappier and faster responses in everyday computer use, such as launching applications, browsing the internet, or editing documents. It ranges from 1 to 5GHz. Some CPUs can temporarily increase their frequency under high load (Turbo Boost).
L2 and L3 cache
For a processor to work as fast as possible, it needs quick storage for temporary data. This is where the on-chip L2 and L3 cache come in. Although these memory stores are significantly smaller than RAM, they are much faster. The L2 and L3 caches are the first storage the processor interacts with, and generally, the bigger, the better.
Processor socket
Before choosing a new processor, you should know which hardware connector (socket) your motherboard uses to connect the CPU. The processor and motherboard must have the same socket designation—this is the first step to building a functional system. Another important factor is the type of RAM. You should know what type of RAM you have.
TDP (Thermal Design Power)
TDP (Thermal Design Power) is a processor parameter that indicates the amount of heat produced under maximum load, while also suggesting its energy consumption. A lower TDP means the processor uses less power and generates less heat, which is ideal for laptops or energy-efficient systems. Conversely, processors with a high TDP offer higher performance but require advanced cooling to prevent overheating.
Processor cooling
A processor, much like a graphics card, generates heat during operation that needs to be dissipated, and the processor itself needs cooling. Some chip packages already include a cooler, but if you want to be absolutely sure you can handle the processor's heat output, you should get an external one. External processor coolers come in various sizes and performance levels, and many support stylish RGB backlighting. You can get both classic air-cooled and water-cooled variants.Specifications
