APC Easy UPS SMV 3000VA

The APC Easy UPS SMV 3000VA backup power supply filters out mains power instabilities to protect servers, workstations and network components in small and medium-sized businesses. This line-interactive backup power supply, with a power rating of 3000VA and a real power output of 2100W, comes in a tower design. Its pure sine wave output powers sensitive electronics. At half load, it supplies power for 10 minutes, giving you plenty of time to save your work and shut down systems correctly. At full load, it powers devices for 2.5 minutes.

Power, efficiency and protection

The line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) actively stabilises mains fluctuations without switching to battery, extending its lifespan. The output is a pure sine wave signal, which is important for powering modern servers and sensitive electronics with active Power Factor Correction (PFC). The power supply protects connected devices with integrated surge protection, featuring a 125J absorption capacity that absorbs power spikes and surges. At full load, the unit operates at 97.3% efficiency, and at half load, it achieves 95.7% efficiency, contributing to lower energy consumption and less heat radiation in the server room.

Battery and backup

Inside the unit is a lead-acid battery, which takes approximately 4 hours to fully charge from a depleted state. The backup time for a safe system shutdown is 10 minutes at a 1050W load and 2.5 minutes at a full load of 2100W. At the end of the battery's lifespan, which is between 3 to 5 years, the user can replace it with a compatible APCRBCV209 module. This operation does not require professional servicing. An IEC C20 input connector is used to connect to the mains. To power protected appliances, six IEC C13 output sockets are provided on the rear panel.

Management and monitoring

USB and RS-232 communication ports are available for management and status monitoring, enabling connection to a computer or server. The package also includes the necessary software on a CD and a USB cable for initial setup and subsequent monitoring. The current operating status, load level and battery capacity are shown on the clear front LCD screen. The unit has a tower design with dimensions of 455×240×180mm and a weight of 25.2kg. Its operating noise level does not exceed 45dBA.
